Almost Not A Tory Banks
John Banks has announced he is going for ACT's nomination in Epsom. I have blogged by thoughts previously on Banks fitting in with ACT so it is a moot point revisiting my concerns. Lets move on from that because no one can convince me for example Tau Henare belongs in the National Party, Nick Smith doesn't belong in the Greens, Simon Power isn't a creation from a Labour Party fetus. Or Georgina Te Heuheu ever was blue.

Don Brash resigned from the National Party and made an advertisement out of doing so. He did this a wee bit late, but better late than never.
So first step would be Banksy resigning from National.
Today we get this piss weak wording
He said he would not be renewing his 38-year membership of the National party because neither party allows dual membership.
This is not good enough Banksy. Show some balls and issue your own Dear John letter, From John. Resign from the National Party and tell us why you are standing for ACT.
There are many ACT members and voters still hesitant on how John Banks fits in with ACT. We want to hear what you are all about in the year 2011. Who knows? You may convince a few people.
Banks could start instead of acting all slutty and hedging his bets for a return to National if ACT reject him, stand up and front foot it. Resign officially from your beloved Tories and commit to ACT.
A day late is better than not at all.

Why is he standing for ACT? Because he's a power-luster who hates being out of the limelight--and he's spotted a chance to get back into the Big House.
But they're all like that, aren't they.
What is really and truly not good enough however is that you lot, under Brash, will be running him as the flagship representative of a party standing for fiscal responsibility and against borrowing and spending--when in his last job John Banks borrowed and spent (on top of raising rates) to such an extent that he left Auckland ratepayers (just the smaller Auckland as was) with a bill of $867 million.
If the ACT Board sees no problem with that, then the ACT Board is even worse than I thought.

Banks is living proof you don't need intelligence to be 'successfull'.
Wrong call Kate, Banks does not have any balls hence the whining voice. 15 years in Parliament and all the man did was start the decline in the Police, his next claim to fame was getting a flogging from a fuckwit. He has self perpetuated an image of a tough, decisive Politicion, the man is a fool.
What is going on with ACT ? Banks is a moral conservative (capital C)
Who I would have thought was the opposite of the Liberal views of ACT..
Maybe I missed something here ?
He doesn't even know ACT rules as they do allow dual membership.
When Brash took over I became interested in voting ACT to get away from the slack middle area. When they announced Banks was standing in my electorate I sent an Email saying that was the end of ACT for me. Banks is an egotistical clown for me.
PC is absolutely right. The whole Brash, Banks and Hide still lurking like a stinking corpse reeks of something contrived and without a mandate from members.
How is it possible for the party to attract back the thousands of members who have deserted the party without a fresh mandate?
