Dedication To Housewife Types

Base mixed and pressed in

Dramatic hand action shot showing superior wrist strength and agility. Note rubber gloves provided for excellent food hygiene.

Mixing bowls of ingredients prepared

And the final product - mango and raspberry topped cheesecake!

It is no secret that I am no fan of housewives and their passionate desire to make housework look as difficult as possible in order to lord their importance over a man's life confusing him that he needs a woman to survive.

When the opportunity arises I of course take every available opportunity to rub their noses in it. Tonight was no exception.

The residences in which I live has events designed to let you meet some of your neighbours. Last month they advertised a cake making and decorating class. So I put my name down and went tonight. The worst that could happen was I would meet some blokes hoping for exactly the same thing - a hook up joint for members of the opposite sexes.

So Busted Blonde - f**k you for belittling me and bet you can't make a cake like this. My staff will taste test it tomorrow because the wonderous thing about baking - by the end I saw just how much sugar, milk and cream is actually in the small cheesecake and decided it best I didn't Pork Chop it and have my cake and eat it too.

Those of you on my Facebook page can see step by step pictures with the final product.

Thing about cooking and baking is this. It is easy and every female brought up in a family unit knows how to do it because we watch our mothers and grandmothers do it. So easy in fact that the dimmest of women can actually achieve it reasonably well as all it requires is an ability to following numbered instructions performing repetitious tasks. This being the case, it is not a matter of not being able to bake or cook - it is just a matter of every night having better things to do with one's time.

Bless. I am linking this post to Elder Sister, whose recent facebook status was "**** can't wait to get married so I can cook and clean and do whatever Master Dave wants me to do!!!" She then confessed to being "half" joking. HALF?!!

I worry for her.

It IS easy. Make sure you have the ingredients before starting, follow the instructions, attention to detail. (Watch the frickin' pot doesn't burn)

That's cooking.

I'm not so sure a baking class is the right place to meet men. They don't generally look that far ahead; a man on a course is usually there because he wants to do the course, not because he wants to hook up. Maybe try a course in fly fishing or field dressing wild pigs?

Cactus, can't really figure why you are on this incessant crusade to deride housewives on the deluded belief you are somehow superior. However, had to laugh at your description of following numbered instructions and repetitive tasks - reminded me of my days as a commercial lawyer before opting out for homesville. You'd be surprised how insignificant that life all seems if you leave it..... the truth is, there isn't really all that much that is incredibly important to do in this world. Just be happy with what YOU are doing, that way you won't need to get angry at anybody else for their choice.

Crab

I'm not quite sure where you are coming from with that comment. Housewife types lord their cooking skills around the blogosphere and Facebook. I was merely joining in the cook-fest and proving it is not that hard.

From the gasps I have received not only here but on Facebook from people who actually know me, I get the feeling others thought I couldn't actually do it.

You opted out - said it yourself, which is an unusual admittance by someone who has settled to stay at home. Couldn't hack doing a day's work in an office so found an alternative route where you stay at home and someone else trots off to do the work that you can't do because you thought it was beneath you to follow your instruction as a commercial lawyer.

I don't know what sort of commercial law you were practising and at what level however there is nothing mundane or step by step with my day at work. Whereas as a woman who has watched generations before me do the same, I can stay at home, turn my brain right off and I am sure do housework and cooking, precious few housewives could come to do what I do all day, putting up with the level of stress that a worker copes with.

So when you ask me whether I think I am superior to them? Yep. I am.
