Right-Wing Cringe Corner

I have been trying to ignore the coverage of Sarah Palin's bizarre pre-4th July rant as of late, and failing. As much as I am a proponent of the (non-religious) policies she supports, words cannot describe just how stupid this woman is. So I won't try write much more as she simply irritates me. In all likelihood she has no idea what the policies she is supporting actually mean anyway.

Can't the Republicans get a more intelligent example of their party than this? She is tokenism at its worst. It must be nigh on impossible to interview the woman as she is so damn stupid.

She can't compare with an educated articulate woman such as this:

Then I am reminded that New Zealand politics seems to have a three pronged answer to Sarah Palin at present. All supposedly centre-right wing supporting women who Fran O'Sullivan pointed out John Key has propelled as the new female-friendly face of the National Party. However all in their own way turning out to be collectively as dreadful. Whereas the left at least have women who on their University paper are smart, ambitious and driven (albeit for the wrong reasons), we are stuck with the following:

http://www.parliament.nz/NR/rdonlyres/DB6F7E4F-5A4D-4E85-B389-52622C1A0833/0/16997MelissaLee.jpg tried hard but even Duncan Garner took her apart.

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_QetjxnJ7yfw/SSDuaD6fxuI/AAAAAAAAAlU/cvdMO30Im68/s320/773433.jpg time bomb waiting to fully explode.

And the worst....

http://www.guide2.co.nz/files/Christine-Rankin.jpg if she is the answer what was the question?

All three I offer in support of the fact you don't just go promoting a woman like Mai Chen and her new cabal wish, just because they are a woman.

They have to be up to the job. Here are two examples of women that clearly are:

I'm struggling to find more than a handful of examples of very senior National Party propelled women who have been up to it based on current form.

Could it be they do not understand "principles?"

But then they may have "principles" but as their party does not stick to its principles they become confused?

Or it maybe that these women were "handpicked" by their leader?

In large part its what Palin isn't that explains her popularity. As Mark Steyn and others have pointed out she's not:

From an ivy league college
From a privileged group
An emir from Incumbenstan
Married to power and money
From a dynastic family

The Yanks have become snobs and its Presidency, Congress and Senate completely divorced from the people they are supposed to serve.. they *are* the Beltway and respond to it and the above mentioed groups. Palin's huge difference is she's an outsider who can talk to people outside the Oligarchy.

As for the likes of Bennett, she's the most successful Minister in the House because she's able to accomplish *nothing* in a vital portfolio.
God help us if she becomes good enough to be captured by her Dept and actually do something.

What was wrong with the statement? She's a national figure and didn't want to waste time as a lame duck governor. I thought it was one of the most principled things I have ever seen in politics, and not because I have a personal hardon for her either.

Criticisms of her intelligence are just kowtowing to the Left wing talking points. They thought Reagan was stupid, vacuous, and too right wing to win an election as well. The jury's still out on Sarah Palin - let's just sit back and see what happens huh?

Agree with you on Judith Collins, reckon she may be the future party leader, but I like Christine Rankin, have no problem with her outspokenness and honesty.

Well yeah, Palin has five kids and a husband. She has a job. She's successful. She doesn't sleep around and she's not facing spinsterhood. She's not psychologically maladjusted because of relationship difficulties with her father.

She's attractive, and not too frightened to show her face.

I guess all that doesn't stop her being the target of bitter little loser progressive bitches with blogs.

Do you reckon envy has anything to do with it??

Palin doesn't have a job. She just quit.

She preaches morality and religion and her own daughter gets knocked up by some hillbilly loser who runs off when the baby is born leaving her to raise it with the daughter, still she preaches squeaky clean family values.

She's around a million in debt in legal fees.

And is an uncontrollable PR bomb waiting to go off.

Thank the Lord she is attractive.

I can't see anything else in her life going fantastically well at present.

Precisely.

However Obama can only claim to being from an Ivy league school and that can't be held against him as it's an achievement.

Palin gets in effect a sympathy vote from Americans who feel sorry for her as she stuffs up so very much and makes them all feel smarter for who they are.

Having a candidate who gets votes by default is possibly not the best chance for victory. Blair mentioned Ronald Reagan however he had two things going for him - he was a bloke and a movie star. Palin is neither.

The true test of hilarity of Palin as President would be sending her to China, Russia or even the UK to discuss world affairs with other leaders.

Palin is comparable in many ways to Melissa Lee. Palin's only experience working outside of politics was as a sports reporter.

Good on you Cactus for not jumping on the "support the idiot" campaign. Anyone who doesn't support Palin on the right appears to be tagged classist or elitist, when we all just want some kind of higher standard than a "hockey Mom".

She's a dumb-bum who couldn't stand a Presidential Campaign, Lord help America if she ever stood as their president. And dragging her family everywhere with her is just obscene.

The only thing she has going for her is the looks.

"Palin doesn't have a job. She just quit."

Get up to speed. She's working on her HUSBAND'S fishing boat.

You Progressives never know what's really going down.

Margaret Thatcher had two children, a job, a long and happy marriage...

Thatcher also served as an MP, and Cabinet Minister, for over two decades before becoming Prime Minister. She didn't bitch and whinge in incoherent, crazy Facebook posts about how mean the liberal media was -- she rolled over them, and changed her country for the better. Without being a whiny little punk bitch.

Sarah Palin has neither the intellectual or political form to be worthy to kiss her court shoes.
I'm sorry that McCain decided to cynically bet that twat would trump nigger, and he lost.
That is all.

Come on Deadbaiter, Palin's CV is worse than Obama's!

Now she will write a book (Obama's only major source of income before becoming President) and go on the speaking circuit.

And for what? Being chosen as McCain's running bimbo?

You're a traitor Craig. All you Progressives are. You hate and fear the renaissance of true Conservatism that Palin might effect because when we start winning, it will show that it is people like you and Kate that are the reason the right have been losing for so long.
