Just For Bomber

Bomber is doing his normal labelling of "racist" anyone who upsets a person of a darker skin tone without examining the full facts. The person of darker colour in Bomber's expert opinion is NEVER wrong.

In doing so he appears to have conveniently lost a comment I made back in relation to his vitriol. Unlike Bomber I am in the USA presently and have been in and out for the past month exposing myself to a complete and broad range of CNN, Fox and local news and speaking to the people here, in the Caribbean and Central America. In fact that's what Bomber has always lacked, exposure to the rest of the world. Went to University, left University, stayed in New Zealand working. Never been exposed to the world from anything other than a left-wing Noo Zooland view.

William Gates, Obama's mate "don't you know who I am?" Harvard Professor was arrested in his home when he was unco-operative and smarmy with Police after a neighbour called the Police when she saw two men break into Gates' house. Gates and his driver were breaking into Gates' house when Gates left behind his keys. The Police were answering a call to defend Gates' property, something he should have been cordial with given African Americans complain all the time about the Police not caring about policing their communities.

So let me point it out Bomber.

Cop who did his job

Crowley, the Cambridge, Mass., officer now taking heat over the Gates arrest, told WCVB that he tried to save the life of the African-American Boston Celtics star, Reggie Lewis, when he collapsed at a team practice 16 years ago. Lewis died of possible heart complications in 1993, after passing out during a practice at Brandeis University.

Racist cop

The law enforcement official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said Officer Justin Barrett referred to the black scholar as a " jungle monkey" in the letter, written in reaction to media coverage of Gates's arrest July 16.

Bomber quoted: "Kate, Kate, Kate - you are running out of things to defend this week aren't you mate, bludgers who have lower legal rights than the rest of us and now white cop arrests the Prof. of Afro-American studies in his own home? I can't wait to hear your justification for when John Key eats a baby live on TV".

Part of Cactus' response that seems to have accidentally gone missing - and Bomber you would be reporting John Key had ate the baby when he was just holding it while its mother was busy looking for a clean nappie.

If you are rude to a Policeman in the USA, it matters not what your colour is - you are in deep shit and will most likely be arrested. Even with my propensity to not take shit, I am extremely polite to Police in the USA. The poor bastards have to deal with the real threat of being killed every day thanks to concealed weapons and gun laws, or the lack of them.

Someone with the intellect of a Harvard Professor should know that. He should hope tonight as he's having a beer with his buddy Obama, that a criminal of any race is not breaking into his house. There is a call-out no Police would wish to go on for fear of being tagged racist.

While more African-Americans are arrested per head of population than those white Americans, you ever thought the reason is why there's more men than women arrested and we don't call the Police "sexist" and picking on men - because they simply break the law more?

Get over it.

God I hate Bradbury. Such a tosser!
But hey... "hes down with the kids y'know". I know, I know, attack the argument - not the person making it, but he just really makes me think bad thoughts.

I think bad thoughts about you too Kate. But they are GOOD bad thoughts!

As I have said KPete, Bomber lacks a rounded exposure with successful people around the world. Still stuck in that "lived in NZ for life" mindset. Which isn't healthy at his age.

I think "hate" is a too strong word. I don't hate him. I just think he's terribly misguided, which is a shame as he's good in front of the camera until he goes on his ranting soapbox pretending he's still 20, with a student loan and a left-wing chip on his shoulder.

Having had direct experience with the police in Virginia and California (state troopers), I can assure 'Bomber' and any other doubters that they could not do their job half efefctively if bound by the sort of PC concerns 'Bomber' would have them bow to... the same ones currently giving German soldiers in UN forces VERY high casualty rates.

They deal with bad people and you will be assumed bad until shown otherwise.

You seriously over-rate him Kate.

I nearly died the other night when I switched on Triangle TV to watch the PBS Newshour and to my horror there was this bespectacled hairy visage (like a Sesame Street Muppet) on my screen ranting at a million miles a minute doing some sort of political monologue.

It was so so terribly earnest. And he so filled the screen. It was clearly all about him.

I don’t mind intelligent leftwing analysis or humour but this was truly horrible. All the lines were totally obvious and juvenile; sort of student march type ranting. All rumbled together like a fur ball with faux familiarity as we three viewers were repeatedly addressed as “whanau.”

The only thing the programme had to recommend it was that it was not on a publicly funded channel and didn’t appear to be attracting NZ Air dosh.

Finally we lucky few viewers were told we were watching one “Bomber”. Thankfully the station was only running a couple of minutes late and Jim Lehrer popped up on screen. For a couple of minutes I thought that Triangle TV might have gone into the business of providing the feed for Gitmo – you know the stuff the use on the “residents” when not water boarding.

Wasn't it Alan Duff who recently suggested all NZers should spend time in the UK/France, to get a grip on where NZ and its inhabitants actually sit globally...waaayyy down the bottom. Our family are most fortunate to have travelled in the northern hemisphere with the two 'young' ones having worked in the UK and China respectively. Certainly adds perspective and balance.

Both men over-reacted here - the Prof and the cop.

The officer seems to have arrested Gates at his own home for loudly voicing his opinions, even after the officer was convinced Gates was who he said he was. He arrested Gates for making a scene and calling him a racist police officer.

He knew Gates was an elderly Harvard professor at his own home.

Bomber is prone to hyperbole just like all bloggers, but he is right in this case.

Kate, I don't know who bomber is, but is it the fat ugly guy who frequently appears on Russel Brown's TV program ?

If he is, then he better be slim down because opinionated people, should be perfect, ie, they've money, they've the looks and finally the brains, such as you Kate.

See, ugly fat cunt like bomber can't escape any criticism of him , irrelevant of how good he puts forward his argument. If his argument is good, then he can be attacked for being too ugly , too leftist or too poor. Now you can see what I mean.

I have been waiting for someone to ask the question. It was the neighbours who made the call to the police .. how come they didnt recognise him?

Obviously Mr. Gates is not a 'community' man if his neighbours did not know who he was.

With all due respect Kate, a couple of things 9sorry for posting so late on this, I read you blog only now and then)

1: Your post wasn't posted because I was out for the day, you will note that it was posted and I commented on that. You are a blogger I have some time for so you will always be posted on Tumeke, I certainly ditch anonymous comments that only add abuse, but you are always welcome on Tumeke Kate.

2: Your claims I've never left the country are simply not true Kate, to an almost embarrassing point.

3: The cop was a acting in an institutionally racist manner. I thought you right wingers were all about property rights? A cop is on your property, you show ID that you own the property and tell the cop to leave, that's your right, simple as that. Defending white cops for arresting black professors in their own home because the black proffessor had the temerity to get stroppy is a joke Kate and beneath someone of your wide and brilliant intellect.

1. Noted.

2. There is a difference between being a tourist and actually living and working in a country. Thought I made that clear.

3. Simply do not agree that the arresting cop did. The 2nd one, I have agreed is a racist. As for being on his own property, there are many circumstances when Police are allowed on your own property, when they do they usually have a load of rights to be there and so to get rid of them it pays to be polite, not rude. A simple ID and thank you to the officer for showing up would have sufficed, not lip and acting aggressively.
