Whatever the nice lady tells you, if it not what you wish to hear such as "all our flights are full this week due to 4th July weekend so you can't leave until Wednesday night":
Call up again and speak to someone hopefully less lazy. Remember rebooking your flight takes EFFORT that the monkey on the airline desk isn't paid one more cent to actually spend.

Make sure they know you are a Star Alliance Gold (spell it out "that means I'm the same as United Premier"), or even better if you are 1K. Both United Premier and 1K (platinum) have their own booking phone numbers and, goodness me if there aren't often flights "miraculously" available if you use the special number.
Hope the lines at the consulate/State Dept. are going well.
