The Fed Causing Concern
Not that one. The Swiss one.
For MOC's (Mother of Cactus') birthday and Christmas present (for a few years....), Cactus splashed out and bought her tickets, flights and hotel to the Australian Open with a group of her friends. {Yeah bite on that Rich Irvine}.
FOC (Father of Cactus) will be living a peaceful life this week, as MOC camps out all day on the couch watching the tennis when Grand Slam events are on. She's a huge tennis nut, loving the game as much as I love smashing Pinkos, and thanks to having represented New Zealand like her friends accompanying her this week has one useful perk - she can apply and get at face value, tickets to pretty much any Grand Slam event she wants, including the finals. Up until now she's never wanted as FOC has put her under house arrest for 2 score and none.
Tennis is pretty poked at present. Outside the Williams sisters, the hot little Russians and the doofy looking Nadal there is only one bright spot - Roger Federer. He is perhaps the only man outside of George Clooney that MOC and I agree, is hot.
Federer wins everything.
So when MOC had tickets to the quarter finals onwards and The Fed was in the round of 32 (pre quarterfinals) playing Janko Tipsarevic and taken all the way 6-7(5), 7-6(1), 5-7, 6-1, 10-8, there were plenty of anxious moments.
Fortunately The Fed tipped over James Blake and is now semifinal bound.

Tennis IS kind of poked at the moment, Federer is obviously one of the very best ever, he's got that fluid movement like he's in a slow motion replay, but unfortunately his personality is kinda slow motion too. Give me McEnroe anyday.
You're very good to your Mum, Kate. She was famous in our household for playing at Wimbledon, you know.

All the Williams have gone on diets as well. Including Mama Williams. Which is probably why Serena and Venus sucked this week - no power.

Why don't you take a leaf out of Cactus' book and shout your mother over to Melbourne as well?
IP, yeah, it's tricky, I'd have to find a window in the foodie junkets that take up so much of her time these days. Would you go to Australia and stay there if I paid? Heh, I joke.

What about the demolition derby of the Woolwich Wanderers? Doesn't get better than 5-1.
Now it's the turn of that other scum in the cup this Sunday.
Bonus we then get to stick it up them twice in a week the following Saturday. A bit like CK's mum I'll be flying over for that match and hopefully can scab a Carling Cup final ticket whilst there for a return visit later in the month.
