Return of The Mad Dog

Ralston that is...

Fabulous.

About friggin' time someone picked him up.

It's like Christmas has come just in time for the end of the 3rd fiscal quarter (31 December balance date). Granny on Sunday AND The Listener.

He is but a columnist of real quality and if he's writing about politics then it should up the bar somewhat for the others. Already these pearls:

My sympathies go to my successor, Australian Anthony Flannery. Although the lucky bugger has taken off to the World Cup for the next five weeks. Still, maybe that's not a blessing. God knows what catastrophes may occur while he is away.

If TVNZ was a family, CYF would have been called in long ago.

A one-year contract is a little like a one-way ticket to Baghdad.

Now, I've never seen people react well to a 22 per cent pay cut and Susan was no exception. She immediately engaged lawyer Mei Chen who went at TVNZ like a rabid chihuahua and within weeks the row went public and the effluent was again flying around the building.

I look forward to some superior neo-capitalist rantings coming up from a somewhat converted pinko.

His first column is very promising. Seems Helen Clark interfered somewhat in TVNZ.

Surprise.

I dunno CK. Who cares about TVNZ - it's a govt coy and we don't watch it.

Plus Ralston is as ugly as a barrel of monkeys.

Maybe he has some worth commenting on other isssues, but I won't hold my breath.

Hmmmm..........part of Ralston's argument is that the job he had is impossibly is complicated as everyone does seem to care about TVNZ and want their penny's worth in the say of it.

And Ralston is a male media figure. Unlike if you are female, empirical evidence proves you don't need to be Brad Pitt to succeed as a male in the industry.

He ruined Metro by lowering the standards and circulation.

Then he ruined TVNZ current affairs by lowering the standards and its audience.

The man may be good at mud wrestling, that doesn't mean you put him in charge of the stadium.

I take his point about TVNZ being a schizophrenic entity.

But I always though you were paid to succeed in spite of the politics of an organisation. It was a grownup's job from day one, and his piece says nothing more that he was whitebait in the shark tank.

The man's full of entertaining hot air.

Let's just enjoy it at that level, and recognise him for the failure he has been at everything else.

Everyone's a critic.

You forgot to blame Bill for 3rd world poverty, AIDS in Africa and the war on terror.

But I forgive you for nobody is perfect.

Signed
Nobody
