Boaged Out

So you are standing for Mayor of Auckland. You wish to receive endorsements from notable people of influence in order to sway the vote and win the Mayoralty. You have a choice of persons capable of placing a good word for you, so do you choose:

a) Dame Cath Tizard
b) John Key
c) Helen Clark
d) Michelle Boag

One would take a) or b) or even c) over d)

It appears Michelle Boag has put a good word in for my friend Alex Swney. Read about it here.

Surely this is a cruel hoax along the lines of Swney's alleged left wing Labour voting leanings that he seems to have kept from me for all these years:

Alex

Great to see you on Waiheke on the weekend - with our love of things a little “alternative” I think you will find lots of support over here. Looking forward to having you here to meet lots more people on 17 September.

I have previously posted on the relative pash of political death that is Michelle Boag.

Michelle Boag has been around the traps long enough for one to naturally assume she is good at something. But being popular with voters or knowing what they like is possibly not the thing.

Boag still haunts me whenever I am in Samoa.

White woman + New Zealand accent + suit + ordering people around = must either be FBI (if you work at the Sydney Cafe) or know Michelle Boag.

I have vowed to continue to go back to Samoa until someone accuses me of being her daughter. That would be time to pull the pin.

For Samoans seem to like her a lot more than New Zealanders.

Swney may be elected Mayor of Apia on her endorsement but Auckland.....aghhhh....John Banks.

I never have said she isn't or wasn't. I have deliberately never addressed the issue as it is irrelevant.

Her record in politics is what I have focused on.

What's your point?
