Dairy Mafia - Fall Guys

As I wrote here and thank you Fran

Token sentences have been handed down in the Powdergate case. The article calls the fines "substantial" however the largest individual fine was $15,000 and the smallest $6,000.
Chump change in comparison with having a cloud over your head for 5 years and being forced to obtain high price legal advice.
"The men were fined a total of $58,500 on six representative charges of producing false customs documents to export milk powder as meat produce after the Serious Fraud Office watered down the original charges from the far more serious conspiracy to defraud".
So once again the SFO (Seriously F****d Office) have acted like a pack of rabies infected bitch hounds and come up with next to nothing other than uncovering standard industry practice and picking on ex Kiwi employees rather than F******* ones. Oooo wonder how THAT happened.
"Outside the court Stuart Grieve, QC, who appeared for Wackrow, said the SFO decision to downgrade the charges showed how weak they were. "It can only be regarded as a measure of their own assessment of how strong their original charge was which was very weak indeed," Mr Grieve said".
And a telling comment from the Judge:
"A similar sentiment was expressed by the judge during his sentencing remarks when he said he had "an uncomfortable feeling that others involved in similar operations may have escaped prosecution".
What is the SFO record in the past couple of years? I have lived an example where they were used by the IRD as an offshore evidence collection agent for a civil matter. Are the SFO subject to political interference?
"It's a bit like Powdergate, where six former dairy industry defendants facing charges laid by the Serious Fraud Office have now done plea deals that will ensure revelations that could damage this country's commercial reputation overseas are swept under the table".
All a load of bullshit in the literal and figurative sense.

Agree. And it really pisses me off that the real villians and one in particular got away with it.The SFO is a complete failure and waste of money. They have no credibility and their loss ratio is appalling. At thats after they have a internal policy of only going after cases with a plus 85% chance of success

Sometime in the future NZ economic historians will evaluate the role that producer boards played in the development of the NZ economy. I expect that the verdict will be overwhelmingly negative with the biggest criticism (after the wool board, which is already seen for the joke it) reserved for the Dairy Board. The powdergate scandal is further evidence of just how politicized the Dairy Board and manufactiring companies had become. I do not think people (in particular farmers) will ever realize how much potential was squandered by the petty political games the single desk seller structure encouraged. Dairy Mafia, couldn't have said it any better myself.
