No More Boagans Please....

Now......am back so can blog on this as it is important, if not now a week out of date. I divert attention away from sex a minute and go back to politics. Because someone really needs to point this out. Perhaps men cannot write about this really without being called sexist, but it is already a proven fact that Cactus Kate is completely and totally 100% sexist towards other women, especially older married ones, so lets get on with it.

As I was sitting on an early morning flight last Saturday morning I had the mispleasure of finding more rubbish from the previously proven centre-left journalist Fran O'Sullivan in the Weak-end Herald. I actually wished I had skipped reading it and got straight into the erotic fiction purchased for me for the weekend. However hindsight is a marvellous tool of the mind.

"Former National Party fixer Michelle Boag put him there. He needs her back now".

O'Sullivan devised a piece on why the National Party, or more to the point Don Brash, needs a woman on his side like Michelle Boag to take the hits for him. Helen Clark in O'Sullivan's opinion does not need help as she manages nicely on her own.

In summary I am a firm and erect believer that a National Party leader needs gonorrhea more than he needs a new or old Michelle Boag. Gonorrhea, as horrible as it looks on the internet, at least seems to have a cure. There is simply no cure for Michelle Boag.

Boag's history in politics is legendary and she has had one of the most colourful PR and political careers known in both "professions". Unfortunately it is possibly not best practice in the PR profession to be in the paper more than your clients. And it is definitely not best practice in politics unless you are David P. Farrar to have a higher profile than the leader of the Party that you work for or belong to.

The irony of course is that I write this and point out Boag started working for Muldoon in 1975, incidentally the year I was born. This makes her.....alot older than me. In fact Boag is listed to have been born in 1954, making her 52 this year. I have trouble believing this.

Here is I guess one nice thing I say about Boag before ripping into her in cyberspace - she always looks pretty good for a political person. In fact the one enduring feature of Boag will be the bright designer suits. Unfortunately for Boag this backs up my theory further that women who wear coloured suits should never be taken seriously and ordered to make coffee like the other good Secretaries do before they cause an infinite amount of trouble. The fact it cost $3,000 and not $200 from Glassons or Max makes no difference. Professional women should never wear coloured suits. Never trust those who do.

Winston has never trusted Boag. "With a Deputy Leader now, as well as a Leader, so out of touch and lacking in the leadership qualities that are needed in politics today one can ALMOST understand why National is so desperate as to consider getting a person like Michelle Boag to try and bring their Party into the 21st Century". In fact I have long enjoyed Winston's taunting of Boag, going back to the Winebox and the infamous debut of Boag as a film director for something beginning with Z I think.

Boag could have done great things in politics for the centre right and National in particular. She seemed to have reasonable respect in business and politics and had a Westie mongrel about her that was affable, direct and common enough to constitute a broad based appeal. In other words I kind of like her and I have met her on several occasions and had a decent discussion.

Grandmas however hated her. They thought she was evil. In fact my own has passed comment to that effect as I wound her up by telling 'G-ma that I had actually met Boag and she seemed very nice in person.

At this point I search on google for more research and find bloody Farrar has already blogged about this story from O'Sullivan in a weak and diplomatic way (pointing out some reasonable irrelevant inaccuracies) so lets divert for a minute and add a female perspective that may explain some of Boag's greatest shortcomings.

Females in positions of power who fail, usually all fail at some time for the same reason. And chances are it is because they develop affections for the wrong sorts of men. For some reason intelligent women seem to have attractions to the wrong sorts of men. We form alliances with the mentally weak and affirm in order to protect and nurture them. Then unlike the Praying Mantis that would eat it's mate, we continue to protect it at all costs. Mostly to ourself.

Boag's weakness was and continues to be illustrated in her ongoing relationship with the most evil, yet highly incapable, Machiavellian politician of the centre left of the National Party - Murray (Muzza) McCully.

I am not spreading evil gossip to state that these two have a past. Everyone in politics knows it. But Boag, the intellectually and strategically superior animal of the two has infact let her feelings and friendship for Muzza cloud the real issue. Where there is a coup in the National Party and destabilisation there will somewhere be Muzza and his bunch of clueless left leaning career politician friends. Boag has been their stalking horse and taken a completely inordinate amount of shit for their actions in the past.

Now what makes me better and qualified to judge.....easy. To explain I will have to release something that to most women would be completely embarrassing. I am not though embarrassed as we can now use the "living example" to prove a very important point to the future of the centre right - that the clean out of Boag, McCully and their little inner sanctum of shit stirrers must begin.

So John Key can take his rightful place as the first Un-Boaganed Leader of the National Party since Muldoon.

So back to my point, I lost my virginity at a young but still respectful age to a National Party candidate. No need to hunt down the name he is not an MP, was not much older than me at the time, nor a Party official or in fact reached any further heights in the Party. The importance of disclosing this is that all women form a kind of attachment to their "first". And while I like this guy and continue to think he is an okay sort of chap, if I was involved in the National Party in a senior capacity as Boag once was and he was causing McCully sort of trouble - I would be the first to get in there and chop off the very organ that I once admired.

And that is why I can state as a female that Boag is in fact very weak. A woman cannot be considered anything other than weak if she rules her professional life by her feelings for old boyfriends. There is also something wrong with a highly intelligent woman marrying or dating a sub-intellect. It simply should not be tolerated and again is a sign that the woman in fact is not as strong as she makes out. We are not like men, we should always look for a man who matches or indeed exceeds our own ability and intellect professionally. Because if you don't it all gets a bit b.o.r.i.n.g. Then you have time to plot political coups and the like....leading to an entire generation of National politicians with splinters in their backsides from sitting on the opposition benches.

So no matter how bad the situation National the answer lies not in bringing back Boagans.

In fact the answer could very well lie in removing the Party of them all together.
